Background

The purpose of the Nebraska Junior Golf Tour's point evaluation system is to establish objective criteria by which the NJGT and its founding partners can judge the performance of golfers who participate in NJGT competitions. The point standings from the NJGT Point System are used as a guide to invite members to the season ending NJGT Tour Championship and to determine age and gender golfer of the year awards.

 

 

In 2017 a golfer's standing in the NJGT Points Race presented by Golf USA as of July 20th at Midnight determines their invitation to the NJGT Championship hosted by Dakota Dunes Country Club. 75 young athletes are invited with the distribution of invitations matching each division's percentage of total tour registration. Point totals are made up of a golfers best 8 finishes throughout the season. Player of the Year awards for each division are for points for the best 8 finishes during the season.

 

The champions of each division at the four NJGT Premier Championships presented by GolfTEC will receive an automatic bid into the NJGT Championship at Dakota Dunes Country Club. These invitations will not go against the 75 allotted to the NJGT Points Race (i.e. - If you are in your invited number you will not be removed from the list to accommodate a Premier Champion)

 

In 2017 a golfer's standing in the NJGT Points Race presented by Golf USA (9-Hole Divisions) as of July 20th at Midnight determines their invitation to The Field Club of Omaha NJGT Championship. 54 young athletes are invited with the distribution of invitations matching each division's percentage of total tour registration. Point totals are made up of a golfers best 8 finishes throughout the season. Player of the Year Awards for each division are for points for the best 8 finishes during the season.

 

 

For the 18-Hole & 9-Hole Divisions the number of invitations per age group will be determined based on tour registration as of July 1st each season. The invitation number announced that same day.

 

 

The NJGT TEAM GOLF Playoffs feature 16 teams from each division competing for the NJGT TEAM GOLF Championship Belt. The top 15 teams in each division's points race will receive an invitation with the Divisional Playoff host facility receiving one automatic bid. Points standings as of the last event determine invitations. Team points are a total of the teams best five events. The champion and runner-up team from the Divisional Playoffs in will move on to the NJGT TEAM GOLF Championship at the Country Club of Lincoln.
